The Rolling Hills Swim Club in West Springfield, VA is accepting applications for the Head Swim Coach position for the 2026 summer NVSL swim season. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic coach with a proven track record of leading swimmers ages 5-18. Qualified applicants should have experience working with swimmers of all abilities, demonstrated knowledge of NVSL or similar competitive summer league, and commitment to good sportsmanship. 

Rolling Hills is a team of 170+ swimmers, most recently competing in NVSL Division 6 and in the local Springfield-Burke Developmental League. 

The primary responsibilities as the Rolling Hills Swim Club Head Coach include:


->Creating and maintaining a positive and fun environment for swimmers of all levels
->Developing seasonal practice plans and daily workout schedules
->Leading and mentoring coaching staff to execute seasonal plans and daily workouts
->Providing constructive feedback to swimmers of all abilities on stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and race strategies
->Organizing meet lineups and approving A-meet and developmental-meet entries
->Maintaining positive and productive coordination and communication with coaching staff, swimmers, team representatives, pool staff, and parents
->Participating in swim team social activities
->Ensuring swimmers and staff adhere to spirit of NVSL sportsmanship and NVSL rules 

Qualifications: 


->Prior head coach experience or multiple seasons as lead assistant coach in NVSL or similar summer league; Club and/or high school swim coach experience preferred
->Competitive swimming experience
->Experience working with swimmers age 6-18
->Experience planning and organizing seasonal swim plans and daily workouts, and setting competitive A-meet lineups
->Knowledge and application of stroke mechanics and swim conditioning methods
->Strong communication and interpersonal skills with team representative, pool staff, coaches, swimmers, and parents
->Commitment to positive team environment, sportsmanship, and fun
->Knowledge and application of NVSL rules and procedures
->Certified in CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard/Water Safety
